Ever feel like your mouth has a direct fiber-optic link to your brain’s search engine, bypassing every “Social Etiquette” filter you spent 50 years building? Welcome to my world. What looks like me just “taking the piss” out of Sarah is actually a classic Parkinson’s hardware glitch.

It’s the result of my brain finding a data match and pushing it to the speakers before the “Inhibition Protocol” can stop the broadcast.

1. The Echolalia Glitch: The Mimic

Sometimes I repeat what people say. I might do it in their exact voice or tone. It’s called Echolalia, and while it can look like I’m being a mockery-bot, it’s purely biological.

  • The Physics: Your brain hears a sound pattern, processes it, and instead of just storing it as “incoming data,” it echoes it back out.
  • The PD Connection: This is linked to a breakdown in the Basal Ganglia-Frontal circuit.
  • The Error: Usually, your brain has a “Social Firewall” that tells you, “Don’t repeat that, it’s weird.” In my Rusted System, that firewall is currently returning a 500: Internal Server Error.

2. The “Queen” Protocol: Impulsive Interjection

Sarah will say, “I want to…” and before she can finish, I’ve already shouted “BREAK FREE!” like I’m auditioning for a Freddie Mercury tribute act.

  • Pattern Matching: My brain is a world-class pattern-matching engine. It hears a phrase, searches its database, finds the highest-ranking match (Queen, 1984), and triggers the vocal cords.
  • Disinhibition: Most people have the same thought, but their “Inhibition Buffer” holds the remark back. Because my dopamine levels are erratic (and pushed around by meds), my “Impulse Control” is operating on a 40% power loss. I literally don’t have the brakes to stop the joke from leaving my mouth.

3. “Taking the Piss” vs. Biological Compulsion

I’ve always been sarcastic—it’s my default setting here in Mt. Juliet—but the frequency of this is now Hardware-Induced Sarcasm.

FeatureSarcasm (Choice)Witzelsucht (PD Symptom)
TriggerA funny situation.A random phrase or word pattern.
ControlCan be silenced in formal settings.Almost impossible to “Cancel” the signal.
RewardSocial bonding/humor.A tiny, desperate “Dopamine hit” for the brain.

🛠️ The System Diagnosis

Is it Parkinson’s related? Almost certainly.

  • The Frontal Lobe: This is the part of the brain that manages “Social Etiquette” and “Stopping.” PD often weakens the connection to this area, meaning the “Stop” signal never reaches the mouth.
  • The Meds Factor: If you are on Dopamine Agonists, “Impulse Control Disorders” are a primary side effect. This usually manifests as gambling or shopping, but for a high-octane nerd, it manifests as Competitive Punning or Compulsive Mimicry.

The lesson? If I finish your sentence with a song lyric, I’m not being a jerk—my brain just hit “Auto-Complete” and I’m just along for the ride.
